Palliative Care

Being told that you need palliative care and support can be distressing, emotional and stressful, not just for you but your loved ones around you. Our Care Professionals can support you and your loved ones with practical and emotional support with care tailored around your individual needs, allowing you to stay at home.

When faced with a life limiting disease or illness, we understand that most people would prefer to remain at home where they feel comfortable and in control. It is an emotional time for all involved and we’re here to support your loved one and family through our bespoke palliative care at home services.

The key to our palliative care is making sure your loved one is comfortable and living life as they choose during the final months or years of their life.

The main objective of our service is to achieve the best quality of life for you, as well as your family. We understand that your family and friends may have strong feelings about your condition and it may be difficult for you to express your feelings for fear of upsetting them. We can help you and your loved ones to discuss your feelings and provide extra support, should your loved ones need to take a break. In addition, we can provide support through periods of bereavement.

As part of our sensitive palliative care service, we ensure that you are treated as an individual, with dignity and respect. We will provide you with a personalised care plan that will take into account your needs, preferences and choices. We also like to ensure continuity of care, which is why we only select a small amount of Carers to work with you and get to know your personality and preferences.

Truly Holistic Care

Our specialist palliative care is brought to you in the comfort of your own home, in familiar surroundings, and by professionals you can trust. During the coming weeks and months there is a lot to consider and we can help support you with not just practical support such as home help and support with personal care, but we can also work alongside your health team to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible at home:

  • Support you to live your life the way you want, alongside your health needs
  • Be observant to health complications and prevent the need for hospital admissions
  • Assist with your health needs and palliative and symptom management plans
  • Work with you and your health care team reviewing your care needs, ensuring you are always receiving the best care for you

Continence Care

When it becomes clear that either your loved one or parents are struggling with the day-to-day tasks of maintaining their own personal hygiene, dressing, toileting and their own appearance it can be an unsettling time for families. Personal care can be difficult for family members or those close to you to carry out, particularly the more intimate tasks or those that require specialist clinical intervention, like changing a catheter or maintaining a stoma bag.

At Honorable Care our expertly trained carers can provide sensitive and respectful personal care focused on ensuring dignity and independence, in the familiar surroundings of your own home. Our highly personalised care plan will capture all your needs and particular preferences including how, when and where you would like the care and support you need, working together with your routines and lifestyle. There really is nowhere better to receive personal care – than in your own home.
